Tyrese Gibson apologises for public meltdowns and reveals what was behind erratic behaviour

Tyrese Gibson has apologised to his fans following a series of public meltdowns over the last few weeks.
The Fast and Furious actor sparked concern after sharing videos of himself crying, lashing out at co-star Dwayne 'The Rock Johnson' and complaining about his mounting legal bills due to his ongoing custody battle with his ex-wife.
Returning to social media over the weekend, the star issued an apology and blamed his erratic behaviour on a bad reaction to his medication.
"Have I been stressed about losing my daughter? Yes. But after seeing several psychiatrists and therapists trying to help me out, one of the psychiatrists suggested some medicine, and it really f**ked me up in a real way," he said.
"If you know me the way I know you do, you know that something had to be wrong and I was not in my normal mind state."
The actor said he had been prescribed a drug that was typically used as an add-on for depression or schizophrenia, in order to help him deal with the "high stress" of his custody battle.
"Contrary to false reports and narrative I don't have a mental illness. It was meds that was suggested to deal with the trauma of losing my daughter this way… everything just changed," he wrote.
Last week Tyrese announced that Hollywood couple Will and Jada Smith had donated $5million to him to help with his legal bills.
He wrote: “When we show UP for each-other there’s nothing that can’t be done I️ repeat nothing...
"My wife kept the news away from me cause I’ve been on with lawyers all day but our family and our sister Jada-Pinkett Smith and my brother Will Smith just sent us 5 million dollars to help keep us afloat."
The actor also said the donation came with a stipulation - that he keeps his private life private from now on.
