But after breaking her silence on the so-called relationship, she put the rumours to bed as she declared herself "single, happy and healthy".
She had released a few thinly veiled comments that seemed to hint that the reports were false.
Indeed, Mel wanted to make it absolutely clear that she is single - and happy.
Taking to Instagram, the TV star hit out at recent headlines debating her romantic status.

Mel then seemed to make a comment about the reports herself, instagramming a throwback photo while hinting she was 'turning the other cheek' to the reports.
She later appeared to dismiss the news when she re-tweeted a social media account that had said: "Don't believe what you read".
